I love that this is a sister story - being a sister myself. My sister and I consume a lot of sibling-involved media, so this is right up my alley. I also really love the mystery and adventure aspect of it since adventure is one of my favorite genres. This book is a fun blend of both. I also really like the settings and how much time is spent with Maddie and Jo. The book doesn't just open up with them being dropped at the school. Readers get to travel from the dig site to the school, with a few misadventures early on.
The pace was really good and I loved the girls. This is a really fun book and I would definitely love to read another installment. I already need more. This book takes classic ideas (separating children from parents and boarding school settings) without keeping some of the drearier parts that come with them (ex: no opening tragedies). I found this really refreshing and fun. I give Twin Sisters Livingston and the Mystery at Madame Molineauex's a Lone Star rating of ✯✯✯✯. I'm definitely throwing this over to my sister.
